Creating badass characters, how badass should they be?

03/02/2012 in

Sometimes I feel like people try to make characters who are so insanely skilled or unkillable that they lose touch with reality and make their story lose its credibility. It’s most obvious with rookies writing fan fiction. (although sometimes I wonder if the folks at GW are deliberately trying to do this)

But I have to say, what better place to look for examples of sweet characters than real life? You can’t lose touch with reality when you are basing your character on real people who really did insane things. And I can’t think of a better conglomeration of easy and fun to read summaries of the most badass men and women to ever crush the skulls of their enemies than badassoftheweek.com
Have a read, my personal favorites are the viking from stamford bridge, John Basilone, and Simo Hayha.
